Windy day for the usual ride to the arboretum for coffee via lots of fire trails and single tracks. Peloton of 3 and joined by 3 others for coffee. Tables were spread much further apart and there was sign limiting the number allowed in the main building to 100 - when we got there there was maybe 20. Topic of conversation over coffee was what you would expect. Nice ride back via the fast trails from the top of Dairy Farmers Hill.

Checked bike half hour before ride to discover yet another flat - 4 flats over 3 weeks spread between two bikes. This time there was a thorn in the tyre which must have been picked up riding back from the bike repair place around the corner yesterday arvo. Bike needed a new large front sprocket.

Peloton of 6 so less than 500!. Had to take MTB today as at the last moment found out the roadie had a flat tyre. Did a slightly shorter route to save the legs as I could not keep up with the road bikes. Not helped by the chain slipping when riding hard uphill in the bigger front cog. Lots of virus fallout discussion over coffee (yes we did stop for coffee). Really nice riding weather - sunny and still.

At the arboretum with Grant. Actually half of the run was in the pine forest to the west of the arboretum - nice old road thru the trees - not sure about access but we went thru it anyway and found out later there were Strava segments there so it must be kosher. Felt OK most of the time but suffered toward the end when we had to climb back up to Wide Brown Land - perhaps not enough carbo loading. Very nice weather for being outdoors.

Sunday Sprint series at Ngunnawal School (somewhere in the far north of Canberra). Ran with the new NVii Terra TT's - which felt nice and bouncy. Only one error when I dropped 22 seconds exiting 25 by missing the closer gateway and as result ran about 40 metres further than needed. Cost me three places in the results. Finding the small control flags in a couple of courtyards was also a small test - but others would have faced that as well. Nice weather and everyone kept an appropriate distance from each other post race.
