Very sorry to hear the diagnosis. Thank goodness for us OGs there are bikes. I sometimes wonder if running is worth all the injuries especially when there are alternatives.

Glad to see the Cervelo is working so sweetly.

Thanks Frank, bit of a bugger as if push came to shove I'd choose running and Foot O over bike! Going to get a second opinion but dont expect a different view to be honest! Dr Lee said keeping running would mean a complete knee replacement within four to five years (then def no running) and he advised me to stop running completely and he is an athelete. It would make even walking difficult with arthiritis soon as MRI shows wafer thin cartilage now and doesn't heal although AMIC techniques using microfractures and your own stem cells are improving currently and this might be an option in a few years? I couldnt do it at anywhere near the level I would wish to so why bother risling invalidity. Still want to be involved in O as lots of friends there so maybe more planning, organising etc in due course? MTBO I really like and am sure you will, though true MTBOs (ie not score) in UK are few and far between sadly but www.bmbo.org.uk has a few and loads of score events/trailquests but not the same as XC. A key factor in my move to Vienna, though I was pretty crap in Portuga to be fairl! Did a good TT over 12k with Kat last night and averaged 34km/hr (Kat 38!) which bodes well for Bintan. As a Cat 1 woman she has an extra 12k time trial on the Friday night as do Cat 1 and 2 Men. Slightly hillier course there but her time yday would have her well placed in Bintan last year and I did mine on my old crappy Orbea rather than Cervelo so a couple of km/hr there I feel. Did a new PB on Cervelo earlier in the day over 20k so happy with shape with one goood leg and one 70% leg, but one of the classiest races in Asia so will be happy just to finish (esp in the heat!) Have you got your new MBike yet? Hope your problem completely healed and you get a good winters training in.
