I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but, as someone in their final year of a PhD on weed eradication, we're never getting rid of blackberies!

I'm not holding my breath either, but it's the thought that counts. At least it's made the grade to be a "weed of national significance" (boneseed only makes it to the state level).

When Parks Victoria was first formed, my new manager (from the city) demanded that I calculate (totally cold, and in an afternoon) an answer to - 'How much would it cost to get rid of all the blackberries in the Alpine National Park?' - and was not at all pleased when I gave the same answer as AzMan !!!!!

Oh, oh, can I please be the one to ask Richard when he licked a cane toad?

I have never even seen one in the flesh so no chance of licking?

Hmm...maybe that could be a selling point for Susanne & Lachlan's NOL races in Darwin next year: "Come to the Top End & see real live cane toads!"
