Mary and I are really sorry for her and hope it gets better soon ... withouth any complications.

Shocking luck, and immense courage to wave the family members on to complete the course. Our thoughts are with Deb and we hope for a speedy recovery.

Thanks all for your kind thoughts. Saw the ortho surgeon today and Deb is going in for surgery tomorrow morning - really lucky with the timing - to have a metal plate attached. This will speed up the healing process and (hopefully) shorten her recovery time. Could be fun at airport scanners:-)
