They're a soft bunch, aren't they? The Pinnacle's a lot more fun when there's mud too, which I presume there wasn't this year, although the final hill is still pretty hard work regardless of the conditions. I definitely miss the Bilga Bash (which had a 1k section of tussock grass where any half-decent orienteer could take at least 50 metres out of the field).

Also pleased to see that long Canberra dog chases aren't completely dead. My PB is 11km (Spence to Aranda). It's never happened to me in Melbourne, perhaps because Melbourne dogs that are that way inclined get squashed by traffic before they have time to hassle runners.
