LOST_Richard:
We saw a bunch of tapes in trees today and picked some up so as not to litter the bush.

Did they have two sets of tapes leading from one controls on two different courses???

Yes. From same control E went one way following tapes, VE the other, also following tapes. I didn't have or see the map until after the kids got to the next E control and they realised it wasn't theirs. If I had seen the map I would have put more effort into looking for tapes heading west instead of north but I was looking for tapes for them to follow leaving that control and couldn't see any at all as we left the control. Essentially though Mt Billy is a really hard place to set easy courses. Not enough good linear features to follow that can be easily linked up. Maybe have both sets of tapes visible from the control but state the colour used for each course- "follow PINK tapes" or "follow BLUE tapes". Wasn't real happy with the VE kids not obviously seeing the tapes from the control when I'm just getting to the stage of setting Amy free on VE courses.

We've only just started Aoife on VE. In France there was a taped route from 4 to 5 that led to an indistinct path - most of the W9s and W10s didn't recognise the path and spent ages searching. One (Larissa E) decided to "go back to 3, then back to 4 to be sure to start again".
