Well done.

See you did not take my alternative route off poll bank. I always went due east and then down the valley. Managed to be in the lead at little Streton once doing this.

The long gentle run up after the A49 crossing always did for me. best I ever did I thin was 3rd, the sweatshirt I got was one of my prized possessions until I wore it out.

TransFan is hard, your not going to like the final decent...

Having seen that they've done up the track along the bottom of Ashes Hollow in the 15 years since I last went down it I'm inclined to agree it's a much quicker route - no climb and gentle descent! It had certainly crossed my mind to go this way.

We're doing Transfan in reserve, so I suppose I'm not going to like the first ascent :-) [and maybe still not the last descent...]

There is a 300m pathless stretch with a bit of undergrowth after crossing the road which puts the fell runners off that route but it's all down and you fresh enough early on to push through.

In revers the last decent will be a pleasure... First climb just a proper hands on knees effort although they may take the Pen-y-fan route but I would just go straight at it.
