MTB cycling 1:30:00 [1]

MTB on the bike paths. I mostly stuck to parts of the Lawrence Loop. I explored the Haskell campus a bit, too.

I probably could have jogged - my calf feels ok. But maybe being a bit cautious was good.

Tomorrow's PTOC event is rescheduled to next week. The forecast has some potential for severe weather and the organizers decided it'd be best to reschedule.

Note

Dinner last night in Lenexa with Mary, Jyothi (sp?), Wade and Kurt. Nice. But something in my meal made me feel awful. I woke up in the middle of the night and was awake for almost 2 hours.

Dinner tonight at Soraya and Alex's - nice. Food was fine - no post-meal awful feelings!

I considered some stationary biking in the morning. But after the poor sleep I decided to use those few minutes to sleep some more.

running 40:00 [2]

Morning jog. I used a little bit of a headlamp for about 10 minutes.

My left calf tightened up after about 15 minutes. That was strange. It felt like it should loosen up and be fine. But it didn't. So after about 25 minutes I walked for a few minutes. That helped. I shuffled home and felt mostly ok.

My left calf is a bit tight now (after lunch). I may take a day off running tomorrow.

I saw some of the Monday running group heading north on the sidewalk along Iowa. But I didn't see Gene.

running 40:00 [2]

Morning jog. I used a little tiny headlamp and turned it off after about 12 minutes when it wasn't needed. I'm guessing this week will mark the end of the headlamp jogs for the season.

Some storms a bit north of the city - not close enough to be a concern, but you could see some clouds in the distance. There was some lightning on the map, but nothing that I could see while I was jogging.

Felt ok - not good, not bad.

running 1:30:00 [2]

Easy effort but long (for me these days) and a bit hilly. I ran from home and did my April campus hilly course. I carried the map and looked at it off and on. Not enough to consider it orienteering training, but still useful and fun.

Nice weather - low 50s, light wind, sun - that most people would consider pleasant.

I felt good. Is that the last 3 runs where I've felt good? I think so. That's nice. I guess it won't last.

I saw a few students on campus taking graduation pictures. That's always fun to see.
