Skipped the morning session, and was almost late for the afternoon run. Awesome course. I was still feeling bad from the head cold, but even if I was well I wouldn't have moved faster today. I am very, very slow in rocky areas like that. I think I had a decent run. Lots of hesitations and map reading stops. I had problems with cp 10 the center of a butterfly, which I visited 3 times.

Route choice run. I cheated a bit by taking trails for a couple of hundred meters, but I was feeling really lousy with a head cold and I didn't want to be late for the next session.

K2 downhill o'ing. Despite the pounding head, I really enjoyed this exercise. This is really the only o'ing exercise of the weekend that I think I could have done faster if I had been well. I really couldn't run the uphills at all. The navigation downhill was a lot of fun. I was pretty clean except for a big error in the mess of re-entrants on the west side of the map, which is the same area where I had a massive error during the middle race last fall!

Mt Nemo control picking and fog training. A really challenging and fun exercise. I found the navigation really difficult. Afterwards I felt that this was another reminder that I have no natural talent for this sport, BUT I'm getting better.

Only last week I was bragging at work,"I'm bullet-proof - I never get sick". Now I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. The cold, wet ride home didn't help. Hubris!
