Orienteering 46:00 [3] 2.4 km (19:10 / km) +33m 17:56 / km
shoes: New Bal. Hierro

Led an expedition through Town Forest for Karen, Peter, Jack, Emily and (chocolate lab) Ranger. Route. A variety of trail types. Through rows of "Christmas trees", a pause at a scout camp structure on hilltop. Nice outing.

To Ansonia with Charlie and did the Brown.

I did pretty well for myself with the huge exception of #4 where my brain completely failed me and sent me off to the next county to wander in confusion. I confessed this sin later to the unexcelled champion and Predominant Guru and was most graciously honored with a short list of ordered principles he has gleaned from his extensive experience. Notwithstanding his surmise that I might forget all of them by the time I got back in my car, I have written them down and posted them on the wall of my office as a mantra to be recited every morning. And copied to a file card taped to my SI.

I was pleased that my butt and adductor issued no complaints while I was out in the woods. I even jogged a bit, but not fast enough to benefit from the draft of the Cadets dashing by.
