Running (with Chariot) 40:00 [3] 4.5 mi (8:53 / mi)
shoes: Icebugs MR3

While Molly and Jasper wereat MYSL, I took rena for a run in the Chariot. Just an out and back along River Rd heading south. Slushy conditions. Really warm. I hope others are staying off ski trails to preserve them until we get back to colder temps. My guess is that may not be the case though.

Classic Skiing 2:00:00 [2] 20.0 km (6:00 / km)

What a fun day. Skied from Wirth to Uptown for Steve's B-Day. Skied with each group that formed for awhile and skied the Butler loop with Brian.
Left the second group trying to bridge the gap to the first on Cedar, but promptly took a wrong turn and added more distance. Finally caught back up to the second group on Lake of the Isles.
I am in agreement with Steve that I wish all workouts were this fun. I am also in agreement with Ian on certain issues. Sorry Steve.

Running 38:45 [3] 4.5 mi (8:37 / mi)
shoes: Icebugs MR3

First run in awhile. Felt like an effort the entire way. Did an out and back to the bottom of the hill past Franklin. Just happy to make it out. I felt like sliding onto the couch and watching Jeopardy.

Note

Below are my 2007 goals with comment. Notice the key word of the year was flexibility. I think that ruled the day. Rena's birth, Jasper's growing desire to be included and coaching twice a day in the fall had major impact on goals. But I had some results that I was very happy with. Highlights maybe tomorrow.

The overarching theme this year is flexibility. I have a number of things I want to accomplish, but they will all be based on not creating a ton of stress for the family. Most volume related goals are scaled back, but I will try to increase quality workouts.
Goals:
300 hours of training (actual 239--bummer)
45 times on a map (actual--60)
Attend 2 A-meets (went to 1 plus PT, and happy with results at both)
Have no local O-meet per k time of 10:30 or higher (have to check, but I think I was close other than night or Minnegoat)
Either 50 Mile Superior Trail Run or Twin Cities Marathon (Yeah, right)
1 triathlon off-road hopefully (Nope)
Train for ultra ski event--either Canadian Ski Marathon or Arrowhead 135. (Nah...although I have more time on real snow this early in a season in a long time.)

Skate Skiing 1:02:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:46 / km)

Got a ski in at Wirth after helping with the MYSL sprint training. Fell a couple of times before I stopped back at the chalet and retreived my headlamp. Skied the back nine (hilly side) mostly with an extra bit of a loop before heading in. Distance is estimate based on time. Conditions were good but surprisingly hardpacked. Temp wasn't too bad.

Hiking 30:00 [1] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

Joined the Volksmarch group at Fort Snelling for a candlelit hike. Very fun. I pulled Rena in the Chariot, Jasper walked until he felt like taking a free ride on the sled Molly was pulling. Very fun, though I am sure Mike and Julia's party was okay too.
