This was a classic case of procrastination. It was a beautiful day today, but I had many chores to do…administrative work for the A-meet and the lovely Team selection process, cleaning my house which was a disaster area, and grocery shopping since our cupboards were bare. All day, I kept telling myself, "You should go for a run today," but I just kept on with my chores. I was even dressed in running gear all day!
Finally, around 7:00 pm, as it was getting dark and the winds were kicking up in front of an incoming storm, I decided that it was time. So, as I was telling myself how silly this was, I kept putting on my shoes and getting my iPod shuffle ready…and out the door. And it felt good. I did intervals of running and walking, and finished strong. Felt like I could have done more running, but I didn't want to hurt anything. Maybe I'll try that again in a few days.
Note
I seem to have patches of poison oak itching from my ankles to my forehead!!
I didn't compete today as I needed to make sure the TT data was updated throughout the sprints so that we could start making decisions as soon as possible after the last sprint.
