Pretty surprised by that result



Didn't have the greatest sleep and I was feeling a bit headachey before heading down to the start and I was feeling bit heavy warming up.

Felt pretty good once I got started though, and I got into the map nicely after the first couple of controls. I was cruising nicely then and the controls were mostly where I expected them to be. I started feeling a bit tired and I had a few slips around 18-21, but I slowed right down and just made sure to get things right. Got a bit easier then towards the end and I was glad to be able to keep the speed going all the way.

So a decent race in the end though I did drop around 2 mins in the middle.
I don't think I could have got ahead of Ben though, so really pleased.

All that training in Waitarere was actually pretty relevant for this, and it was nice to get on a map the day before as well.
