Running 1:10:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:50 / km)

From my place down Bayswater then hit the seawall at Kits Point. All the way down and over Cambie bridge, back up to and over Burrard bridge, then Cornwall to Bayswater. Distance is approximate.

Was only planning to do a short run, but felt good, so decided to go down to Science World and round that way. By the time I got to Cambie bridge and realized I had no water, food, or money, it was better to cut it a little short. I've been up since 5:40, as Pascal left this morning for Vanderhoof, so didn't want to push my luck.

Second and third toes rubbed together, causing small blister on each toe. Never happened before... hip flexers and left quad were hurting by the end. It's been a while since I ran for so long on concrete.

I feel way better now, not so sluggish. Go running!

Note

So the training kinda died after Wednesday. Lots of swimming and walking, and not too much lazing. There was, however, a LOT of eating and drinking.... it's hard not to be tempted by the huge, delicious buffet. The saving grace was that the food was really well cooked (not deep fried!), and I stuck mainly to fruit, salad, eggs, and meat, and well away from the bread, waffles, crepes, etc.

If only the terrain in the Riviera Maya was good enough to orienteering... we could totally hit up the all inclusive for a training camp.... that kitchen could feed a LOT of orienteers! Unfortunately it's pretty flat and thick, thick jungle... maybe we could do kayak orienteering, or just run along the beach?!
