Hiking 3:03:37 [2] 3.75 mi (48:58 / mi) +423m 36:15 / mi

Hike to top of Flat Top Mt., Alaska's most climbed mountain. I'd neither heard of nor seen it. This was the very last gasp of 31 days away. We went for a wander along Anchorage periphery. Drove to a view which turned out to be a popular trail head for Chugach SP walks/hikes. There was Flat Top seemingly far away but front and center, too. Pleased to be able to do it - a bit of a physical challenge but a rock scramble balance one, too.

And a challenge to get this entered (gpx & photo links) on seldom-used 2009 desktop, laptop in repair as of today. I am sick of UNs and p/words that don't work, often inexplicably.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Arctic OC sprint on UAA campus. This was on a Wednesday, timing couldn’t have been better, start 5-7p on last full AK day. Did the long, 3.8k, 19c, no gpx file though. Could have carried my phone in my pocket but too rusty to ponder it. Pleased to be in motion for 60’ but, of course, way down the finisher list, youth and backyard at work. Met the map maker, had fun chatting up a few members but most were hurrying along mid-week.

#3 on wrong side of fence despite thinking about it. #5 around to left, wouldn’t bite on woods. #8 was a problem, too much asphalt choice, too little attention - a simple compass bearing/glance would have prevented my lapse. #17 went 100m or so before I realized the uncrossable fence was a big time sink waiting to happen (same fence as #3).
