orienteering 1:10:18 [4] 10.8 km (6:31 / km)

Le Rocher Brule

Beautiful day, spring poked its head up...
... five minutes behind the leader, one and a half behind mattias and anthony... not atrocious for first time doing orienteering proper since venezia ... or pradis 26oct if streeto doesn't count

body not used to terrain running. upper body completely out of shape. distance judgment all over the place, and not reading form-lines at all well.

same event, same time last year, on a slighltly easier course, ran sub 6 minute ks. pushed hard and didn't have trouble reading the map.

Feel like I can get surpass that level in a month... if i train...

Walked from Avon station (not the closest -doh) - going on for an hour's walk perhaps? beautiful day...

running 36:00 [2]

after getting a lift back from orienteering, fecked about for half an hour and then went for three laps of montsouris, slow.

weather was beautiful, took the o map from the morning and went over the course. wasn't sharp at all that morning.

did a bit of stretching afterwards and my first situps in monthssssssss...

... felt good!!

running 1:06:00 [3]

cold foggy day, a bit of mist. slogged 6 laps of montsouris.

it's nice taking a day off work. will be harder come february once teaching duties kick in.

running 40:00 [3]

five laps of cite. took real mental effort to get out there. tired after college, late evening, damp...

once i got out it was lovely. mental exhaustion was the main reason for stopping. didn't go very fast, possibly slower than 8 minute laps...

Sunday Jan 18, 2004 #

running 1:47:00 [2]

almost nine times montsouris, at or at just over twelve minute laps.

in other words taking it easy.

i think my joints were on the point of starting to complaining when the parc began to close :)

thinking of conformal measures, capacity and slovenian orienteering while jogging.

running 46:00 [4]

6*cite moderately fast, using breathing exercises to fight off a stitch. small jog warm-up/down

Friday Jan 16, 2004 #

running 55:00 [3]

six times the cite loop in 43 or thereabouts, it felt quite fast, but then i'm out of shape :)
another 15 minutes of light jogging, short sprint and a few stretches.

Theatrical teacher-training today. good stuff. breathing and balancing exercises top notch. Also rolled a french r in public which got a round of applause.
Incidentally, apart from the relaxing exercises, imagining a string pulling up my head seems to help me run faster, and if nothing else, to stop slouching :)
Tired earlier this week from 's'exprimer devant un groupe' training. so, um, didn't go running...

Sunday Jan 11, 2004 #

running 1:01:00 [3]

3*parc montsouris, mostly on path cos the ground was sodden - 32 mins
then 3and a half in the cite

rained a bit in the middle

running is great

Saturday Jan 10, 2004 #

running 41:00 [3]

4*parc montsouris.
didn't want to overdo things starting up again so cut it a bit shorter than i was intending. ot finding it partic easy running either... i suppose it'll take a while to loosen up.

Thursday Jan 8, 2004 #

running 36:00 [3]

in the cite... reasonable pace... tired after work... could only go for a short run because dinner was waiting :)

tired the following day... mentally tired - not sure why, perhaps because i'm starting to run again, or because i'm starting to study again... it's hard work...

running 50:00 [3]

5*Parc Montsouris
I'm back, and not very fit. Still, gives me easy targets to beat :)

Want to be running over 5 hours a week by the start of February...
