Road run 48:15 [3] 6.0 mi (8:03 / mi)

running from the work. Stopping at the Trader Joe's. ohh ohh, did you hear that Wegman's is coming to Boston!! I'm so thrilled. I'm going to camp out in line :) mmm. turns out that I didn't need to pick up risotto ingredients because Sam went shopping too, and she got turkey burger stuffs.

slow because of all the yumminess kept in my backpack.

Skiing 2:00:00 [3]

our plan was to skate along some trails up by the inn, but we found that they hadn't been groomed recently enough. So we headed back down to the Jackson trails and skied up and down the river again. Snow was much slower today, even with glide wax. skiing in short sleeves :) how very nice.

Road run 3:00:00 [3]

skiing with the Saeger's. Judy planned an amazing vacation for us all, up in Jackson NH. I had classic wax on, but I had a really don't have the technique to keep up with the crew. We headed up hill quite slowly, with hill looping back to stay in contact with us. we came back down to the river trail and I started skating instead. A gorgeous day, and gently downhill skating is very fun. 3 hrs was enough for me, so I called it a day.

Note

took the T home, instead of running. So we could get a start on the driving

Road run 43:52 [3] 6.0 mi (7:19 / mi)

Running into work this morning. What perfect weather. Sam was saying last night that it might rain, so that was the incentive I needed to run in the morning. I found it easier to push hard this morning than any time in the recent past. Maybe because it was the first "work" I had to accomplish I had more energy to put towards the running part. Also the hills are easier ( more gradual) running this six miles to the east, than coming back to the west.

Road run 43:49 [3] 6.0 mi (7:18 / mi)

pushing much harder on the way home.... not much faster. really makes me think that it's easier on the way in. Felt great to run hard. And my foot felt better in the evening than in the morning. So that's good. This is my first time running twice in one day, very happy with it. It didn't ever rain, though it threatened to open up the entire way home. My eventual goal of doing this run in under 42 minutes is seeming attainable :)

Road run 45:48 [3] 6.0 mi (7:38 / mi)

running home from work. First time with the new kicks. My foot still hurts on the ball of my left foot. It has been hurting whenever I have shoes on, regardless of which shoe I have on, since Sunday. It hurt during the run tonight as well, but not as much as the last couple of days. It seems like a soreness issue that is taking a while to resolve, and might benefit from me staying off my feet whenever possible.

Note

I was planning on running home from work tonight, but got stuck running a gel. by the time I was done in the lab I was going to be late for dinner and games at home if I ran.... So I did the Sudoku on the T ride home and was annoyed to find that the puzzle had multiple possible answers. Don't they realize that people depend on these puzzle for daily satisfaction? they aren't allowed to mess up.

Playing Ticket to Ride and Boggle while eating Mushroom, Onion, and Gruyère Galette soothed me somewhat.

Note

No running. Foot hurts a lot from Sunday. Sam came with me to buy a new pair of shoes. I had been planning to buy them last Thursday but left my coupon at home, and then was thinking about getting them Saturday morning but ran out of time. Anyways, I decided to try some Mizuno shoes since I've heard such good things about them, and they look decidedly cool. Ended up with some Wave 3 Inspires size 8.5 and am hoping they do the trick.

Road run 2:08:00 [3]

long run with the Saeger clan. I'll edit this and write more, but now I'm backlogging at work, and my gel just finished running, so I can take a pic and get out of here.

orienteering 30:00 [3] 4.8 km (6:15 / km)

Backlogging some orienteering with the CSU training crowd. 2x running a short hammond pond loop. just over 15 minutes the first time, just under the second time. I have my real times somewhere. Man how do I get so far behind in my logging?

Road run 46:53 [3] 6.0 mi (7:49 / mi)

running home. in the rain. at least it's not snow. I did take off my glasses though, which sorta meant that I was running blind. not feeling all that fast. it does feel good to exercise though.

Road run 46:10 [3] 6.0 mi (7:42 / mi)

Two in a row. Running in the daylight. crazy man :)
I was hungry. and I had some stitches I think from running with a backpack.

Road run 48:01 [3] 6.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

been a long time since i've logged, but that's mostly because I haven't been running very much. oops. well, I felt slow tonight, my bag is uncomfortable to run with some nights. the straps are hard to adjust now, because I've sweat gallons into them and so they've become a bit stiff.... just means that I can't get exactly the right length without extreme effort. time to wash the bag? nah :)

Note

This weekend I had lot's of friends visiting from various out of town places. I didn't go running either day, but I think that laughing and having a good time should count as exercise.
