Orienteering race (Urban Race) 37:55 [5]

AIRE Haworth Town Race. More complicated than it looks. Made a complete hash of 2, being put offby orange fencing around the children's play area. Faffed around on the wrong terrace for ages before reloacating from the finish banner! Good routes through the strets, with a lot of hills until I entered the Bronte museum Car Park. found first one on steps fine, but for some reason decided to cut up through brambles on a very steep slope to 11. David went round, via some differnt steps, doing it all on paths!! Rather slippery around 13 to 15. 15 was tricky as there was no cut through. Enjoyed the race and my result. Everyone was obviously making mistakes!

Orienteering race (Urban Race) 27:59 [5]

AIRE Thornton town race. Start was at the top of a very windy hill. Chasing start at 1 minute intervals. I was actually only 8 seconds behind the person in front of me. Some tricky routes, with routes having uncrossable walls on them. Only problem was a wall in a small garden where there was aloose dog causing problems. From there it was all up hill.Took the eastern road from 10, but the western road would have been better. Slow from there to Finish.

Body Attack 50:00 [4]

Good session this morning, but strange without Pippa being there. A couple of newcomers so Sassi did a lot of teaching - not a bad thing, but it's the last session before the new release this weekend. Shame we're away so I'll miss the Launch. Monday could be a challenge!!

Body Combat warm up/down 1:00:00 [5]

Last time with the present mix. Sassi is still changing some of the moves as she thinks the new versions are better. The trouble is my brain won't accept the changes at this late stage!!

Orienteering race 1:09:05 [3]

BAOC - event with a difference. First part, 2kms, was an Urban Race around Army Barracks. Fine - but you do need to get the descriptions correct - ie control on hedge end should be at the end of the hedge not on a nearby (25m) set of steps. When you have roads on the key marked as brown you do not expect to find them coloured yellow, for open, along with all the surrounding grass and sports pitches! I've never seen out of bounds printed with a green stripe, as undergrowth, difficult to run. Good job it was only 2kms, Then out to a road crossing (marked in yellow) to drop map and pick up a forest map. Had a lot of trouble actually finding the start and the course. Then a long path run half way to 3. Had problems as I'd had to take my glasses off due to misting up. Took strange route out of 5 and consequently had problems with 6. Couldn't see the contours of a very deep, stepp sided re-entrant so wandered off in the wrong direction. 13 minute leg!! Came out of 7 wrong way, but was able to relocate with Lynn's help.
At least they'd put an event on, but that is a;ll I can say in its defence.

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]

Good, high octane session tonight. Sassi was definitely on a high impact mission tonight. worked very hard, especially during track 8. Have fianlly got the right speed for all the moves, but a stronger bladder would make it easier!!

Body Attack 45:00 [4]

It is nice having a small class as there is plenty of room in the studio. Felt pleased I was able to almost all of the jumping jacks in track 3 which I've never managed before. Katie made a real mess of the abs trck as the moves were all over the place - wrong order, wrong links etc!! Never mind, but it does put your mind in a muddle.

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]

Enjoyable session, even though Jo nearly knocked me to the floor in the Johnny Be Good track!! Finally getting to grips with the "Asda advert" track which is incredibly fast. However I'm looking forward to the new release next week. Shame I'll miss the Launch though.

Orienteering race 29:59 [5]

Warwick City Race. Really looking forward to this, but disappointed that it wasn't very technical and that Lynden started 1 minute behind me despite there only being 30 on the whole course. As a result after she'd caught me, at 5, we went round the rest of the course just a few metres apart, changing lead occassionally, but she then pulled away as we left the castle. Was glad I'd looked at the path going from the carpark as that was the route to 2. There was a route choice from 3 to 4, but the only other one was 8 to 9. Straight forward navigating. Only had 3 controls in the castle. Last one was hidden between 2 trees with such a tight fit for the unit you couldn't get your Emit brick flat down. I'd lost 40 seconds on leg 1, and then the odd second here and there. But really pleased with my result - 3rd, and I beat Liz Drew for the seond time in 2 City Races!! 2011 Urban League here I come!!
