Climb 2:00:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @1) + (30:00 @3) + (20:00 @4) + (10:00 @5)
shoes: Scarpa - Vision

Not a bad sesh at all considering it's been 2 weeks, and i had R. index fingertip taped having cut it yesterday.
All but nailed a black 6b+ on the LHS overhanging wall. Dug deep but just had to give in only one move from the top!
A few 6a's i did felt quite easy (apart from the odd wee problem). Felt good to feel that i actually had a choice of techniques in most situations.
No bouldering at all today.

B is getting much more confident and comfy with 5+ routes now, giving 6's a fair bash too ......mush happier climber these days.

Checked out the Gym at EICA while there..... quite nice, and well equipped.
Enough squat racks to 'shake-a-stick-at' !

Walk 1:00:00 [1]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco

Jogging, walking, standing about at at cammo 'helping' with kids coaching.Actually longer then this but for what i did, not worth logging any more.
I ended up arriving late and then joining Rogers yellow group ...... unaware there was a list somewhere saying i was to help Bill with the Orange group ... ooops

Knee seemed to cope better with off road jogging than the level surface stuff i'm supposed to do.

Flexibility 10:00 [1]

Waaaay too busy for training, but no harm making it a rest day to give the knee a chance.

Haven't been terribly motivated to do strength work since hurting knee again the other day.
Bought some cod liver oil and Glucosamine / Chondroitin supplements to see if they help a little ...... feeling very old buying those!

Flexibility 1:30:00 [2]
shoes: Bare Feet

Absolutely zonked by the end of the day at work.... recent slippage into sugary snacks at work not, not, not a good thing.

Idea of taking into the big pile of stuff needing doing at home didn't help energy levels.

Figured i really needed a good stretch and de-stress so opted for yoga instead of cycle to O-training social.... which also freed up some valuable time.

Watching my posture in the mirrors i came to conclusion that it's my back flexibilty that allows me to touch floor so easily ..... not as much hip / hamstring flex as should be the case.

Felt much better for it though.

Note

Knee slightly achey when i started walking up the hill to work, eased off, then came back again on steeper steps up through milners close.

Back to the point where ITB stretches cause a little discomfort in the knee..... here we go round in a circle

Bike 15:00 [2]

to work

Bike hills 1:05:00 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (20:00 @3) + (35:00 @4)

Grassmarket, cowgate, 3 laps of holyrood park, abbey hill, royal tce, broughton road, home

Raining ... albeit fairly lightly

Ended up pushing fairly hard from the off in order to avoid being run over by motorists with weather induced blindness / disengaged brain syndrome.

Quite enjoyed the burn of pumping my way up the hill between the lower and upper lochs.

Eased off a tad upon leaving the park.

Strength / Core 5:00 [3]
shoes: Bare Feet

Just a few quick ankle stability exercises

Flexibility 15:00 [1]

some AM, some PM

Walk 3:30:00 [1]

Lazy Day - Off work for my birthday
Particularly easy walk from Kelso along banks of the Tweed (or maybe it was the Teviot ?..... should check that)

Saw lots of wind turbines today. Mesmerizing, Beautiful Creatures.
Also saw lots of developer housing estates too. Cheap, Ugly, and very lowest-common-denominator-ish !!!
There should be more wind turbines and less cheap developer housing in the countryside please!

Our lack of haste, meant original plan to climb and/or my going to yoga class were out the window by the time we got back to Ed.
