Note

Squamish/Vancouver. Easy day with only some hiking/walking around Lynn Canyon and downtown.

Not many logged hours this week but we probably hiked 10-12h so it was not an easy week.

Note

Squamish, BC. Hiked up the Chief. It was foggy so we couldn't see anything from the top. Still a very cool hike.

Friday Aug 24, 2018 #

Note

Some easy hiking around Hidden Lakes and then some spectating. Knees are not happy.

Running 20:00 [1]

Orienteering 1:08:00 [2]

Ran open course at COC long. Some pretty tough woods out there. Running open as opposed to a competitive category meant that I lacked that drive to push through the scrappy stuff and often got stuck. Made a couple of mistakes.

Running 40:00 [1]

Easy run on the neighbourhood trails.

Hiked King's Throne today at Kluane NP.

Running 20:00 [1]

Orienteering 18:00 [4]

Not in my best orienteering shape at the moment. Keen to bounce back from the middle I started off hard and overshoot the first one with a minute...and it got worse. #2-5 were so close to each other I had difficulties figuring out which circle to go to. After 5 minutes of running I was almost 3 minutes behind...eventually I got in to a rhythm and looking at splits, I kept bmay's pace for the rest of the race. And according to the Anvil classification, I am now officially bad.

The rest of the day was spent driving and sightseeing the highway to and, including a visit, from Skagway.

Note

Skipped the relay and did the Fish Lake hike followed by the Takhini hot springs instead.
