Terrain (Trail) 38:00 [2] *
shoes: Jalas Green

Jogging out to the start on the Chubb.

Orienteering (Woods) 41:00 [4] ***
ahr:155 max:162 21c shoes: Jalas Green

5x80-100m vertical at West Tyson (1:10) with downhill control picking between. A bit less intense than my usual hill work, but still breathing plenty hard.

Orienteering (Woods) 24:00 [2] ***
19c shoes: Jalas Green

Right into control picking. First few were a bit ragged as the haze from the last (and steepest) interval subsided. Pretty clean after that.

Running (Road) 45:00 [2]
shoes: 2130 White

Morning run from the B&B in Augusta. Katy Trail southwest for a few miles and back into town on Augusta Bottom Rd.

Orienteering (Woods) 59:00 [2] ***
20c shoes: Sportiva Grey

Back home after lunch. Modest pace map contact work at Rockwoods (1:15). Some of the legs were a bit too long to qualify as control picking. Nav was pretty tight. Felt good.

Note
(rest day)

Kate's birthday. I started work early so we could leave for a little B&B trip at noon. I'm sure she would have been OK with me getting a run in, but there didn't seem to be much value to burning up favor points for a maintenance run.

Running (Track) 35:00 [5]
ahr:172 max:182 weight:172lbs shoes: Reebok spikes

4x100@20 100R then 1600@5:20.5. Splits 80.2, 80.3, 80.6, 79.4.

Attackpoint 1600 (two days late, but who's counting?) Back in STL, good morning for running hard: 50F, light breeze, sprinkles. Wanted to run this in the daylight, but I probably should have held off on breakfast until after. Had a fair bit of partly digested oatmeal in my mouth on lap 3. Time includes jogging over to the track and back on the powerline.

PM: O-intervals at Babler (1:15). About 25 minutes of control picking followed by 3x1200@6:35-6:45 with half time easy jog recovery. Very pleased with the speed through the woods; I was expecting these to take 30-45 seconds longer.

Running (Road) 59:00 [2]
shoes: 2140 Black

Easy AM jog from downtown Minneapolis, across the river and around UoM. Campus was not as interesting as I had hoped, but jogging along the river was nice. Very mild for these parts; 40F before the sun had even come up.

Running (Road) 38:00 [2]
shoes: 2140 Black

Easy morning jog round downtown Minneapolis.

Running (Road) 41:00 [2] *
shoes: Sportiva Grey

From downtown to Wirth Park for the Tuesday Night training. Was getting too dark to read the map by the time I got there.

Orienteering (Woods/Night) 1:14:00 [2] ***
20c shoes: Sportiva Grey

Night Training at Wirth Park (1:5). 4 short courses set by Pete Curtis. Fairly easy nav, but I still took it easy, not wanting to spoil my first O in Minnesota with a bunch of mistakes. Took fairly straight routes to make it more interesting even though there were considerably faster options using roads and trails. Fun stuff and a pretty good turnout for a weeknight session. Around 10 people total and most finished all the courses.
