Road Cycling (river loop) 2:03:00 [3] 62.0 km (1:59 / km)
shoes: Giant TCR Advanced

Didnt get to bed until 11.45 last night so when the alarm went off at 5am to get ready for claremont i was just a little sluggish so i decided to ride form home instead. Checked the radar before heading out as there was sheet lightning around. Temp was 29.6 at 5.15am with possible showers.

running (Champion lake) 24:44 [4] 5.0 km (4:57 / km)
slept:5.0 weight:90.4kg shoes: Asics Kayano 18

Got home from work and fell asleep on the couch. Woke up and raced down to Champion Lake to get a 5km run in before weigh in at the gym. Didn't feel comfortable during the run because i was tired, hot, sore, stressed, .......

Half way round the lake and the forestdale fire looked to have flared up again but in a different area (not sure if a firebug was setting numerous fires). The Sea King chopper arrived from Jandakot and proceeded to find a spot on the lake that wasnt going to interfere with the dragon boat training and others using the facilities. Watched it fly in and out a couple of times before i was at the spot it was using to fill up. Pretty impressive to be running along and staring pretty much eye to eye with the chopper pilot as he flies towards you trying to get height with the new payload.

Managed to run under 25mins for the 5km so cant complain considering the conditions 35.4degrees. Water levels at the lake are looking extremely low. The choppers may need to find somewhere else to steal water!

Road Cycling (Floreat ) 1:18:05 [4] 42.3 km (1:51 / km)
shoes: Giant TCR Advanced

Rocked up for my first floreat ride for 2013. Was slightly concerned about the pace today with all the new IOCC guys and their new kit. Managed to hold wheel until Cotesloe when the guy in front dropped 3 bike lengths going up the climb past the cop shop. By the time i went past to close the gap i managed to make up some distance before i notice i was no longer closing the gap. Spent the next section lonesome as i headed towards Port Beach. Took the short cut through the refinery to ensure i picked up the group again.

Stayed with the group through to water tower before some guys made a breakaway. I rode with four through to the middle of devil's elbow before i flagged a bit. Rode into CCGS only just behind the last guys. Jon Gregg was on his duallie today and was repairing some guys saddle which had come separated from the seat post. After mucking around for 5min or so the group eventually took off with the rider riding saddleless! If it were me i think i would have removed the post as well for the sake of injury.

Good ride through to UWA until half the pack decided to run a red light yet again. 5 of us did the right thing and then 4 turned off to do Kings Park so i rode back by myself.

Gym (No limits) 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 18

10 min run then a strength session tonight. Most exercises i could do but there were a few where the weight was to much for my right wrist.
