PT (Schroth method) 30:00 [1]

We're working with a practitioner of the Schroth method. It involves moving the different sections of our trunks to correct the scoliosis curves, then breathing into the newly expanded areas and doing isometric exercises. There is also a component of choices to make about how to sit, stand, reach, carry, as we go through our everyday lives.

Orienteering 15:00 [2]

Corridor-O by Stephen. Yay CSU!

Note

Trying to limit myself to no more than 3-4 hours a day of junior team administration...

Current focus, besides JST selection, is figuring out the logistics of the summer trip. There are as many as 30 kids ready to go, if they can find a way to fund it. We really need fundraising, and the kids & families need to look at what they can do to raise money. The JWOC portion of the trip including airfare is ~$3000. (3.5 weeks, including 2 weeks of training prior to JWOC, JWOC itself, and a really great opportunity for a few days of training with a Czech coach afterward.) OUSA will pay for entry fees and some of the housing for the JWOC competitors, but that leaves their airfare, training costs, and then all the costs for the rest of the standing team.

I think we're in pretty good shape for accommodation for pre-JWOC and JWOC. We need to collect applications from adults interested in being team leaders, helping to drive and with logistics. Erin is seeking strong coaches, possibly from different but related sports. We have a travel agent to help us arrange discounted group travel.

Erin and I had one conversation about summer of 2014. It would be great if, leading up to and beyond the world rogaining championships 2014, the USA and Canada could put on a bunch of national meets and other events, and we could arrange additional training events, so that the summer junior trip will be in North America instead of Europe.

Note

Congrats to the senior foot-O standing team members!

Note

Given that we'll be spending some time in the Czech Republic next summer, this is kind of cool.
