Note

Received 50 copies of Sandy's niece's poster from the printer. One is gracing my office door, and 6 were sent in to hang in school classrooms this morning.
I showed it as a slide in my orienteering training talk at the junior high last week, and when I showed it to Isabel's class, she and Eva broke out in snorty giggles. I guess at Ross doing that flying thing.
And I am pretty sure I heard work colleagues laughing at the poster this morning.
Sigh.

Note

Results for Sunday are up. Isabel did just fine on orange!

A couple parents came over and worked with me on setting up for the field trip: writing control numbers on the back of tickets, putting 4 tickets in each of 60 envelopes, labeling envelopes, attaching flagging tape, ordering the envelopes for hanging in the woods Friday morning, some data entry.

We need more controls! I guess I borrowed controls from CSU last year. Sent email to Larry asking if I can buy some more. I think we're close, but need about 6 or 8.

I received $45 in contributions from the parents who helped last night. I think the rough costs for this project are something like this (I know I do keep going on about this, but I'm trying to work toward having others be able to do it, and maybe doing it when I don't have a job and whatnot):
$250 - printing
$150 - prizes, snacks (mostly covered by my helper Leah)
$500 - bus (covered by grant from Mayor's office)
$20 - other supplies (envelopes, tickets, flagging tape, nametags, punchcards which I still need to print)
$180 - NEOC copyright: two maps per student at $1/map, plus various and sundry maps for placing & collecting controls, etc. (waived by NEOC)

Then there are reused assets:
controls
compasses
clipboards
traffic cones
reflective vests for crossing guards
folding chairs
signs
OCAD

And non monetary contributions:
