Some laps of St James Park. There was a squad of troops doing laps in combat uniform carrying packs. They were going the opposite direction so no danger of being embarrassed by having a soldier in boots with a pack pass me.

3 x 1 km tempo efforts. Had a 1 km recovery between. Even efforts with only 3 seconds between fastest and slowest. The only issue was that the path was black ice in several places and a couple of times was concerned about skidding and going over

Extended loop through Hyde Park, and then detour on the return through Mayfair and up Shaftesbury Ave to make up the distance. Longest run for nearly 2 months
Started early to avoid the snow, although it would have been nice to see it in the park

Regents Park outer loop. Ran this clockwise, whereas the cyclists go ant-clockwise. This meant being dazzled by the very bright lights that some of the riders had. It was a clear morning, so a lot more riders out than when the conditions are not so good.

Preferring to go out early morning despite the cold as no one else is around. Streets are pretty empty later, but before 7 there is no one. At the moment being anti-social and avoiding other people feels a lot safer.

Return journey, retracing yesterday's run, to pick up the car. Minute quicker, but didn't feel as fast. Strava recorded exactly the same distance as yesterday, but Garmin was shorter. However, in defence of the Garmin I didn't wait until it had fully got a satellite fix before starting.

Dropped the car off for service and ran back home. New parts of the city I hadn’t been to. Bitterly cold headwind for part of the way made it uncomfortable.
The plan is to run back tomorrow and pick it up, thereby avoiding public transport
