Running race (roads) 1:26:57 [5] 21.1 km (4:07 / km)
shoes: DS Trainers

Bristol Half Marathon.
Good race and pleased to get a PB, if only by 12secs!
Got a great starting position this time and passed under the start banner after 5secs. My plan was to just run and not look at my watch or count miles. It was pissing with rain but other than that the first bit was pretty good. The first mile marker I saw was 4 and at that precise moment the lead car on the other side of the road drove past with a massive clock on its roof saying 26.07, doh! I did some quick and incorrect maths and worked out I was doing really badly. So I tried to speed up a bit out to and back from the turn-around on the portway (all very flat and dull this section!). I looked at my watch at 6miles - 39.20 - shit that was a couple of minutes faster than I was expecting.... good, back on track. Miles 6-10 were fine (not easy, but ok). 10miles - 66mins. Then I just had 3miles to go which I thought would be fine - 'just a little steady 5km' - but oh god it was so tough... lots of zig-zagging around Bristol centre as well. Finally finished, woohoo!

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Warm-up jog with Matt and Mike down to the start of the race from our car where it was parked in the burbs.
No cool-down; too wet and cold :P

Running (streets) 38:30 [3]
shoes: DS Trainers

With Matt and MikeS for the first 20mins, around the back of Blaise and down the 'gorge'. Then from Stoke Bishop I dropped off the back and made my own slow way back through WoT.

A little jog to try out my new running shoes. The shoes were good but I felt shocking!

Running (paths) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Swoops

The usual loop around Blaise plus a little bit around KW Hill. I saw a fox who wasn't very worried about me at all, and I also saw 4 golf balls (I left them as I don't need any golf balls).

Orienteering race 48:27 [5] *** 6.2 km (7:49 / km)
27c shoes: Asics Trail Attack

Didcot Ladygrove Urban event (public holiday Monday).
Long urban race, lots of route choice... good fun. Lost a few minutes around controls 8&9, mainly due to an irate local who had taken a control (have a good life you fucking wanker), and a passable hedge which turned out not to be passable at all (I gave it a few attempts!). I also fell in the filthiest muddiest ditch you could imagine and I apologise now to those around me at the time for my potty-mouth.

Running warm up/down 12:00 [2]

With Tim, Laura and Matt.
