running (trails) 1:53:00 [3]
shoes: HOKA mufasa 12.5

Incredibly awesome Harriman state park, bought topo/hiking map at lake tiorati on 7 lakes drive, then drove to parking by lakeĀ askoti, there is nice network of trails and figured being up on mtn/ridge w/ rd below and east i could bail out anytime, and guessed id run out of daylight and I could run rd back in the dark, so went N and W on trails to "times square" then NNE on trail meeting up with the A.T. for awhile, finally bailed E thru woods by a swamp to 7 lakes rd and back cause it was dark and I was freezing. Temp in Montclair was 40, at start in park at elevation temp was 31 finishing it was 27, and I forgot jacket.
Other notable while running back on rd saw a deer standing in lane, could hear car coming up from behind, so I watched, driver never hit brake just started blasting horn continuously until deer ran off, seems typical of driving here, get the f off my road or I'll run u over, cuz i aint stoppin, on way to park was going 63 on palisades Pkwy, was being passed like I was standing still, ugh.

Ugh, on streets of Montclair again, found a small park called eagle rock so bopped around on rocky trails stopped a couple times to look at nyc skyline off in the distance. All compressioned up knees/socks

running (road) 37:00 [3]

In pouring rain on the streets in upper Montclair nj.
Notable: on way back saw 3 wild turkeys, 2 standing in middle of the road, other on the curb, I could have petted its head. Saw a skull at the edge of the road, but it was plastic.....must be a remnant of Halloween

orienteering (practice) 1:50:00 [3]

north and eastern portion of richie ledges map. spent alot of time crisscrossing that flat/subtle eastern part. some was awful, then sort of got it going, at least i could correct and read map after mostly leftitis running. felt pretty good, ran some legs/sections at good sustained effort.
ankles and feet feel trashed from workout.
