Orienteering race 1:01:06 [4] 5.9 km (10:21 / km)

Northern Champs - Wass
Slow and plodding race around a very steep, grotty area. The terrain was not the nicest to run in, however navigation was adequate. I got tired very quickly by the steep hill climbs which slowed me down for the latter part of the race. Fast pace along paths was necessary but I couldn't deliver since I was too tired to go faster than my usual pace. So reckon I lost 3 mins on #4&6 path runs. Nav was fine, no loss other than a couple of small hesitations just attacking some controls, tired into #19 at the end.

Slow jogging around University of Surrey in Guildford to get used to the 1:4,000 map and preparing for tomorrow.

Orienteering (Sprint) 8:51 [4] 1.54 km (5:45 / km)

1km sprint course to practise flow at high speed but taking off the tapes at the same time was a bit of a mare. Just for training. Felt good though but warm up needs to be full on for tomorrow.

Small loop around Blackheath, taking in the sunshine while it lasts.

Intervals around my tussocky garden. Felt good but hot as it was very warm for the beginning of spring!

Orienteering 23:04 [3] 2.81 km (8:13 / km)

GO Bananas O-Training doing a short clock-O from memory on Blackheath. Felt good in nice weather, relaxed running in terrain, no problems.

Running 37:36 [3] 6.8 km (5:32 / km)

Slow but steady trying to get some terrain running in. Still feeling good, getting my confidence back, ankle no problem in mixed terrain.
