  • Jog 1.1 miles to warm up.

  • Three mile tempo run. Goal was to maintain 10k race pace. Splits were 9:29, 9:30 and 9:11. I may be slow but at least I'm consistent! ;-)

  • Petting of super-cute beagles at trailhead.

  • Jog 1.1 miles to cool down.

  • Dynamic stretching and 200m jog to warm up.

  • Two rounds with 20# kettlebell: 10 deadlifts / 10 sumo deadlift high-pulls / 10 squats / 10 swings

  • "Helen" workout, for time -- three rounds of:

    - run 400m
    - 30# kettlebell swings x 21
    - pull-ups x 12 (assisted pull-ups, green band)

    Red course at Manitou Park. I made a parallel error at #3 (I was heading up the wrong reentrant), and I overshot #8. I was moving as slow as ever, but otherwise it was a good day for me -- until I attempted to "help" with control pick-up and only found two of my five controls... It was miserably hot and I was out of water, not thinking clearly. Yeah, that's my excuse.
