Athletics race (300m hurdles) 47 [5] 0.3 km (2:37 / km)
shoes: Nike Spikes

First event of the day at Devon Schools. Unfortunately only 2 of us were running, and the other girl is a year older. This was only my 2nd 30m hurdles race and I got a PB, which I'm really chuffed about, especially since it was ridiculously hot!

My time puts me 5th in the South West and the girl who beat me now goes top in the south west. Hopefully I'll get selected for the SW champs next week!

Athletics race (300m) 44 [5] 0.3 km (2:27 / km)
shoes: Nike Spikes

We were supposed to have 2 heats and then a final later on, but 2 people didn't turn up, so they ran a straight final (which was good, else, I'd have had to have waited another 3 hours...)

I had a shocking start, I don't know why, but my final 100m was really strong -I wish the race had been about 10m longer because then I would have caught some of the girls ahead of me! But I'm pretty happy as that's the first 300m I've run this season, and it was very hot and I haven't raced or trained too much.

My time of 44.38 isn't a personal best, but (obviously) it's a SB andalso my 2nd best time ever, not bad:D

When the track gets back in use and exams are overr, I will be doing some serious training!!

Found this random quiz thing about the London 2012 medalists. On my first attempt, I got about 40 right, and now I'm on 83. The hardest part is the spelling!

Running 15:00 [3] 2.75 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Asics road runners

Gentle run down Poffit's Lane with Jonty. Gentle runs are all part of the rehab process and preparation for race process of course;) And it was muddy and stinging nettley which obviously makes for a more interesting run!

Athletics 1:30:00 [4]
shoes: Nike Spikes

Final bit of prep before Devon Schools. I think there are only going to be two runners (including me) for the 300m hurdles so let's hope there are medals! And that means there is no excuse for a slow time, so I'm going to have to really push it on Saturday.

Tonight's session was quite a few reps over the first 3, then the first 4 hurdles looking at stride pattern. My coach moved one of the hurdles back a bit so I would have to go over it on the other leg (i.e. doing 20 strides insetad of 19)....but I just did 21 instead lol.

Running 14:00 [4] 3.14 km (4:28 / km)
shoes: Asics road runners

Time is just an estimate.

Ran slowly out to Furze, then did a pushed pace to the crossroads (about 700ish metres). Time from Furze to CW cross - 2mins31. Which is much, much faster than the last 800m I did on the track (albeit that was about 2 years ago...) so I'm thinking I could maybe do an 800m at the next competition, to see how it goes.

Then slowed it down back to Furze and 'sprinted' from there to Grit Bin, which is down a hill then up a hill. Not sure how far it is...but time of 1min37.

So in theory I could run from Grit Bin to the crossroads in 4mins08, but that is kind of unlikely!!
