Note
(rest day)

Happy first day of June. It's a great start to the month, with this being a rest day but oh well :')

Hockey 20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics road runners

Again just spent the time hitting the ball against the wall, trying to perfect my hit. Which I reckon I've done, so it was time well spent. And then I practised my penalty flicks...I really want to get a perfect flick, but I'm happy with a whippet push to the bottom left corner ;)

Skipping 10:00 [2]

same as yesterday.

Cycling tempo 30:00 [5] 15.8 km (1:54 / km)
shoes: Asics light

Very tough ride on the spinner, but I beat the Marok family record by 100m so happy with that and I beat my previous PB by 1.7km lol:D

Burned 290 calories yesss:)

And it was boiling in the room, the bike was right in the sun :( so I ended up cycling the last 10km in just a crop top and shorts!

NB: cycling shorts are very uncomfortable.

Cycling warm up/down 10:00 [1] 2.5 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Asics light

burned 25 calories on my cool down, way to go.

Skipping 10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics road runners

Bit of skipping to improve agility and also a bit of short speed fitness (if that makes any sense). Only 10 mins but did 100 double bounce skips, 50 boxer skips, 100 running skips (50 of each leg going first), 50 hop skips on each foot.

Oh yeah I forgot to say, the rope is weighted so I could actually feel my biceps working as I skipped!!

Flexibility and Core 20:00 [1]

The usual really....

Running (fartlek) 28:00 [5] 5.0 km (5:36 / km)

Devised a new training programme for myself and did the Fartlek Session 2 today. It was pretty brutal not going to lie! I don't actually know how far I went, because I had to basically run up and down until I had completed the session, so 5k is a rough estimate. And obviously because it's sprint jog then timings don't really mean much...

Anyway the session was as follows:
1. 1 min. sprint / 1 min. jog x 2
2. 1:30 min. sprint / 1:30 min. jog x 2
3. 2 min. sprint / 2 min. jog x 2
4. 1:30 min. sprint / 1:30 min. jog x 2
5. 1 min. sprint / 1 min. jog x 2

Hockey 30:00 [2]

Just pounded hits against the wall for half an hour. Thing is, it's actually a lot harder than one may think to keep hitting solidly and consistently for half an hour. Although it's not much strain on your legs, I'm really hot lol.

Athletics tempo 1:00:00 [5]
shoes: Nike Spikes

Drove all the way to Yeovil for a bit of 300m hurdles specific stuff, since the Exeter track is closed:(

Started off with some light warm up drills to get my legs moving including this really cool one to get my trail leg snapping over the hurdles. Then we did some gentle runs over the last 3 hurdles in the 300m hurdles race (but with the right lead in).

Then the real training started! With a 50m lead in to the first hurdle and 35m between the hurdles (like in a proper race), we did 100% effort over the last 3 hurdles. That's about 160m ish... And we did that 5 times. It's a lot harder than it seems, especially because Dad was timing it so I knew what I had to do.

My splits were 26.4, 26.1, 25.6, 26.3, 26.2. So consistent anyhow!

Note
(rest day)

After dinner I went for a walk with the family. It was about 1.5miles but since it was no effort whatsoever, I didn't think I could log it as activity.....

Flexibility and Core 20:00 [1]

I really think I should stop putting my Flexibilty and Core workouts on here. They require absolutely no effort and, it's the same every time. Oh well, clocking up the hours anyhow.

Running tempo 13:34 [4] 3.14 km (4:19 / km)
shoes: Asics road runners

Nice bit of fartlek to Clyst William Cross and back. Felt pretty good, although my way back was a few seconds faster, I guess I didn't have the hill though. Enjoyed going up Grit Bin 'gently' without having to race anybody!!

Flexibility and Core 15:00 [1]

Bit of flexibility stuff just to get my muscles working after my 'wild night' last night eating sugar and helium....nah it wasn't wild lol. But I just did a bit of stretching at like no effort. I might run later if I can be bothered.

Note

Just learnt how to do a reverse stick hit in hockey - very proud of myself especially as it was in the courtyard, with my old, dead hockey stick.

Running 13:41 [4] 3.14 km (4:21 / km)
shoes: Asics road runners

Ran a mile to the crossroads to meet Jonty. While waiting I decided to do some sprints so did about 4 100m sprints. Then we ran back to my house and had a Grit Bin sprint. Jonty tried to kick earlier this time but I still beat him mwahahaha. Although, he would still probably beat me if he just did the mile flat out. Ah well, gotta be in it to win it.

And then we had cake to put on all the calories. And now he has to run back to his house, as I'm typing this lol :)
