Orienteering race 20:03 [5] 3.53 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 4

Derry City Race. The painkiller hadn't kicked in but I tried to put the pain to the back of my mind and just run. Everything was going so smoothly until #5, where I didn't spot it was on the underpass and ran like a headless chicken once I'd realised, and of course took the longest route possible. You'd think I would have learnt come #8 but no I was still a level too high and lost time running around. Thankfully there were no more traps on the course and so went smoothly :)

Running warm up/down 5:34 [1] 0.6 km (9:17 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 4

11 AM

Running warm up/down 5:00 [2] 0.7 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Orienteering race 13:14 [5] 2.31 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Ebrington Square. This was just a bit of a flat out run, there wasn't too much navigation, but I did miss the fastest route to #7. Slight problem coming out of #11, I found myself battering through a bramble patch, not optimal. 3rd overall so happy enough
3 PM

Running warm up/down 6:40 [1] 0.95 km (7:01 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Orienteering race 17:46 [5] 3.25 km (5:28 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Coleraine Campus Sprint. My legs were not happy with this one, not running properly in a couple of weeks really showed, I was seriously struggling just to keep moving. Weirdly it was actually the fastest I ran, shows what a clean race can do. Missed a few of the fastest routes but was happy enough

Orienteering race 49:29 [3] 4.05 km (12:13 / km)
shoes: VJ Integrators

Was sick yesterday on top of the injury so took this at 3/4 pace to try and preserve myself for the sprints. The first half of the course was fine, everything ran smoothly although due to lack of energy the hill out of 4 nearly killed me. I missed 8 and 9 slightly left but managed to spot them so it wasn't too bad. Going to 10 I ignored all my instincts and lost at least 4 mins. My instincts were to cut down at the second wall, so I went at the first, my instinct was to cross the wind blow, so I faffed around beside it for a couple of mins before I eventually crossed it. 13 I was on the wrong ditch, it took a few seconds to figure it out and the rest were fine. I felt very little pain during the race so it was a good thing to take it slow!

Note

Leg seems to be getting worse, its sore when walking today so its rest for the foreseeable future (except this weekend) to try and get it right before EOC.
