Decided not to go to the SAX Mill bank event today - chance to get on with domestic activities at home in advance of the SINS weekend.
Pretty busy day in the garden and playing with the children

Orienteering race 41:49 [4] *** 5.2 km (8:03 / km) +150m 7:02 / km
21c shoes: VJ Falcon (2013)

Sheffield Forest SOG - Blue Course.
Felt that I'd had a reasonable run, but surprised to find that I was in fifth place (6 minutes off the lead! - amazing run by AV). Conservatively planned course resulted in most controls quite visible and not far off linear features. Felt that bearings worked well for me today and that nav was under control.

Misty cool morning, though could feel the warmth of the sun where it was ytring to punch through. Low single figure (C) temps last night, though not quite a frost.

Thursday Run with a stop off at the library to get some Shropshire OS maps in time for next weekend. Estimated distance and time.
Approx 11 mins to lib, 8 mins in lib, 19 mins back to work via home (to drop off maps).

Another cool and breezy morning.

Pool very busy and difficult to get much continuity at the start of the session.
Second 20 lengths seemed reasonable, however, with an average of just under 61s/length. Felt that I'd had a good workout by the end.

Started off quite strong, though accuracy not very good with serves.

Three good games.

First swim in the big pool for a fortnight (initially away, then the cut finger incident).
Arms were feeling the strain, though leg kick not so stressing. Moderately busy - mainly managed to pass when I wanted to with only a couple of hold-ups. Ended up doing an extra couple of lengths due to congestion at the lane end when I was planning to stop.
Not too surprised that I was slow - it's been a very tiring few weeks with little respite.
