Running (Mapping) 1:41:02 [1] 4.06 km (24:52 / km) +49m 23:27 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 2013

Headed out to the state park to take a look at the new portion of the map with Jerry and Eero. We debated a couple things regarding vegetation assignments, erosion ditches and gullies, and the accuracy of the contours. I will be designing the courses for the MNOC meet here in June, so it's good for me to get out and explore this new chunk of map in the park.

Running (scary night running) 27:04 [3] 6.07 km (4:28 / km) +28m 4:22 / km

Erin told us a while back it's a good idea to start running at night to get ready for Jukola. I tried that today, and I must say it was one of the most terrifying experiences I've had in a while. It was all good at the beginning when it was still twilight and you could still kinda see. But then once the darkness really set in halfway through my run, I must've started going a little loopy. I was on the trails behind the town hall, and then crossed over onto the golf course. It kept thinking there was something following me, probably because my brain was playing tricks on me. I started freaking out a little bit, headed back to the road, and began my way back home, still hearing that noise every once in a while. Then my mind began to wander a little bit, and I thought about slenderman, which definitely didn't help. Got home as quick as I could and tried to regain my sanity. Scary stuff right there.
