Note
(injured) (rest day)

Hamstring (right) which I tweaked when nearly falling yesterday (stumbled & saved myself), was far too sore to contemplate SARUM Saunter. Iced It on sofa. Liz says it's possible a mini injury. Oh dear. Rest.

If I'd been more flexible, I'd have coped better with the stumble. Lessons to be learned.

Orienteering race 44:53 [4]
(injured) shoes: Yellow Mud Claw

BOK Saturday series, worlebury woods, Green. First time to Worlebury; may be my last . Grim slopes, undergrowth, and vague paths in green that kinked & wandered, coupled with a rather unfocussed / "lazy" attitude, dapply sunlight in the woods making seeing the pale orange controls rather tricky. Hamstring gave me jip after I stumbled & nearly fell over, saving myself but tweaking the leg in the process.

No 1 - in right -ish place, but not quite at the crag, on a nasty slope/mud / unmarked path... - map not very good here; no 6 - hard to see pale orange flags in dapply sunny woods, no 9 - sloppy leaving 8 and distracted by another runner; biggest cock up to 13 where there were so many paths, got on a "wrogn" one then struggled (with no help from another competitor, who was insisting we'd overshot - we hadn't, we'd undershot) to relocate, which eventually I did. Then missed path to last control - by which time I didn't care anymore. I've won the series, tho , I guess, and I am grateful to BOK volunteers & Phil Warry (series co-ordinator) for their efforts.

Results: a low spot for me, this. http://www.bristolorienteering.org.uk/sites/defaul...

Note

TCA bouldering with Liz & Nellie. Good - not as wrecked as I'd feared I would be. Did two "purples".

Cycle 30 mins total - town & back.

Good day, bought a guitar too :)

Running 51:00 [5] 11.7 km (4:22 / km) +45m 4:17 / km
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 5

Hard hard run, felt very fit & lithe, wore shorts, felt like I could keep accelerating up anything & get away with it. Pretty much did too, the uphill 800m at 8.5km taking just 3:06. Not sure if this is a record. It hurt.

Legs in so much pain later, I had to resort to beer & painkillers in evening. No Pain = no gain. But no running til Saturday now.

Convinced that this training works for me - decimate myself, then recover over 2-3 days.

Note

Indoor climbing at RedPoint with Liz. Good sesh. Flashed 2 routes I "dogged" 2 weeks ago. Knew the moves, but even so.

Not a rest day.... :) well knackered at end (beer)
