Was tired from previous day and was well out of contention for being competitive by the time I started. The first few teams were already finished by the time I left...

Missed 3, depression by a whisker and dropped 2 mins, then another 2 mins at 5 when I was thrown by unmarked veg feature and then 6 was one of my worst controls ever...another 9 mins, then another 4 mins at 7...

Marcus passed me and from there on I walked and jogged the rest which meant I was in land of living and not dehydrated for the rest of day

So awful but nothing riding on it.

7.6k course
3rd! great result considering my poor running form. On the whole technically poor. But welsh guy caught up on me and we caught up on Scot and we traded places for rest of course. We dropped time on many controls probably with looking at each other, but also meant we did not have any large time loses which others did on the course. Had to put in big effort to keep up and got a navigation tow through intricate brown where I needed to stop to read map with the magnifier, but their mistakes meant I could keep up or even get ahead in a couple places. Turned the ankle 2 controls from home which was quite painful at time and dropped 40secs from there in.

The 50s on the same course spanked the 45s....

To sum up, I've run a lot better for a much poorer result.
