Orienteering - race 22:00 [3] 4.1 km (5:22 / km)

BOC relay. Mens short. Fun. Ray mispunched - bummer for him. I was last leg and had no idea, so had fun passing Neil Conway and some junior (Jack Benham?) to come back in 1st place but no prize - boo! Running well - nearly sub 5min k's, but not quite. Good, proper planning unlike yesterday...

Orienteering - race 1:25:00 [3] 11.0 km (7:44 / km)

Grrrr!! another shockingly shit british long run. My hamstring i could feel, which meant i wasn't throwing myself into it as i usually would, but my nav was crap as well. Dropped 15 secs at the start of 2-3, 1min close to 4, then 3mins at 12, about 4:30 on 16-17 (saw the oob, didn't see the uncrossable wall lines,
made the route choice crap, and execution even
worse), 21 1:30, 22 30secs and even 30secs not
finding a decent way down to the last control. 11:1
5 lost in all. Crappity crappity crap crap crap. Am i
ever going to win this race? i am hacked off with
such a crap performance, but not depressed by
it, as i was with my bad runs last year, so that is an improvement. Tho this is my first true 'claire has a shit run' that i have had this year so wait until i screw up eoc and the woc selection races. Then i will be hacked off and depressed. can i skive the prizegiving tomorrow? i can't be bothered to fake looking pleased to be on the podium...

Anyway, the route to improvement is concentration, planning & taking the time. Need to do more catching features to remind myself how easy it is to get lost, but last time i did cf it was a woc 2011 map and i nearly had a panic attack. Not good.

Road running 35:47 [3] 4.6 mi (7:47 / mi)

Bad stomach, bad bad sleep deprivation, soaring stress levels. Will a run help, or hinder? it helped Massively. Ttft. Must try and get a grip on lack of sleep and stress though. finding time for job, kids and training is tough and the only one i have a bit of flexibiliry in it is the training, but training is the stress relief too and i wouldn't want to go about orienteering in a half hearted way when i am having so much fun.if i get through the next few weeks i'll catch up on sleep at eoc and hopefully things will get easier.
