Whats happened to the brave man versus wild!
I thought you had overcome the newcomers fear of Aussie wildlife!
First of all, no I haven't, and I have never claimed I have overcome the newcomers fear of Aussie wild life. Second: overcoming fear does nothing when a 1kg bird is sweeping at 25km/h straight to gouge your eyes out, oh god! I am blind!...but at least I am not affraid. Third, I never saw a discovery channel documentary about magpie swooping, it was all about sharks, snakes,, etc, which you rarely see on the media locally, but Magpie swooping is as topical as the carbon tax when its in season, and always brought up by "old comers" as you may call them. In other words, not a fear you develop as a newcomer, but one you develop after being here for a while.
So, to answer your question, he is fine, fighting bears for fun in Alaska, which is as good as excuse as any, to stay clear of Canberra magpies between September and early December.
