It was only 45 minutes and it calls to me like the siren song. I can't resist the heart pounding intensity that leaves me cross eyed and senselessly laying on the ground in convulsions. Or letting the bike take me through the most technical sections as I move my weigh front to back side to side as the Michelin tires grab and hold whatever I ask them and my bike turns on a dime left, right burms or flats.

I feel like the kid with the giant machine gun in that movie, Taps, where they took over the military school. Right before he gets blow away he faces the camera with drool coming out of his mouth and insanity on his face as he screams

"This is fuckin awesome man."

You are AWESOME. FUN..

I did one of those races last year (only one) at SeaTac, in the newbe and kids are welcome devision... I would be interested if I had any improvements.. I was kind of intimidated still might be, first time Mt. biking all by myself, but everyone seemed SO nice -except the one guy that looped me and acted like he was going for the Olympic Gold Medal. He should NOT have felt proud beating me and few 12-15 year olds..:)

there are some of those out their but you just need to ignore them. At the seatac race on Sunday it was much higher keyed and I got elbowed out a couple of time. For what? So the guys could get 17th place??? Like you said it was sport catagory and I was so far back that it really made no difference. A kindly on your left would have kept us both out of the bushes. Yes that's right I may be a jedi kung fu master but if you throw an elbow at me I going to grab it and move it out of my way.
