This year is the Twilight Zone edition--in the shadow of Twilight Peak, north of Durango, Colorado. Intricate gneiss tablelands. Forests of aspen, spruce/fir, ponderosa pine. Many small marshes. Much gentler topography than both our previous years. Elevations ranging from 8,200 feet to 9,700 feet.
(No, it's not the Little Molas area, like we were hoping. The Forest Service won't issue a permit for an event in that area. The good news is, the 2000 mapped acres there constitute a world-class training ground for your personal excursions. We plan to design some interesting training problems for you).
