JK Beaudesert Long
2nd, 2nd overall for 2nd year running. V65
High Dam / Bigland versus Beaudesert. What a contrast. No contest.
In 50 years of this game this has to be the muddiest, most gloopy event ever.

Felt confident of being able to do some damage to top three if all went well. Starting 4th provided a different mindset to last years lead.

Held things together well throughout, perhaps losing up to two minutes if I’m very picky - but at least half of that was mud wallowing. The only flaw in the plan was JohnE smoking everyone - just no touching him even if I’d had a brilliant run. Hopefully BOC will be much more technical, and less of a mud fest.

Enough said elsewhere about the area and the planning. Not the finest JK in the forest.

Dead leg of a left thigh from falling on an old tree stump on Saturday, and a strange pain in right foot. Hopefully both short lived, but right not to run in relays.
