running 10:00 [1] 1.7 km (5:53 / km) +15m 5:38 / km

orienteering - Quality race 36:55 [4] 7.21 km (5:07 / km) +64m 4:54 / km

Stigtomtakavlen - Leg 4. 8th team overall! Very happy with the team's and my individual performance.

Running the un-forked leg taking place at the re-start for the day legs. A minute up to the teams ahead of me, 3 minutes back to the teams behind me, and a young Attunda runner starting 2 seconds behind me. Ended up losing ~90s to Jesper Svensk and Stora Tuna, and 1:43 behind the best leg time so I'm very happy with this, especially considering I ran alone the whole way. I caught some glimpses of some runners ahead of me a couple of times, but it wasn't until running up the hill to control 13 that I saw them for real.

Anyway very happy with the technical performance. Quite easy terrain, but very clean nonetheless. My biggest mistake must have been failing to find my map on the map board before leaving the arena.

SM Natt. 70th, +22:56 on Simon Hector.

I was +19:35 off the winner in 2022, but the winning time was over 5 mins longer this year and I believe the terrain and courses were more difficult.

Big mistake to control 9. First a parallelish mistake after passing the big cliffs. Quickly relocated on the bare open hill with the cliff, but I had poor direction again running to the control. From there on I was second guessing where I was and until I eventually found the big hill and relocated after some time.

A leg that went well was control 16. Here I was only 23s off the best split (including helping a very lost girl for 5-10s, who had probably bitten off more than she could chew with the Swedish night champs). I think it’s due to me finding a good quick line through the terrain and also managing to simplify this leg well. At night I just can’t orienteer as fast in this terrain as others, and I think it’s down to my ability to simplify the map down to the important and visible features.

running warm up/down 11:00 [1] 1.84 km (5:59 / km) +25m 5:36 / km

Warm-up and a very short cool-down

orienteering - Quality intervals 51:30 [4] 7.44 km (6:55 / km) +168m 6:13 / km

O-intervals with Järla and IGTISA. Really fun area which was more steep than I expected. Quite tired on the last loop after the couple steep climbs.

Really just Per and myself out front, but I got some more relay feelings on the 2nd loop after my big mistake and having to run through the pack.

17:50, 13:24, 10:42 running time. 6:09 and 3:23 rest.

Feel free to make sense of the livelox. I had "gaffel 1" for both the first 2 loops and everyone had the same last loop.

90-120s mistake to control 3 on the second loop. Quite a steep hill leaving the control so I got pulled to the left the way I had come and easiest path up the hill. Then a combination of Per having the other forking and poor direction led me astray. I noticed enough things that didn't line up that I should have stopped and double checked where I was running. I eventually made it to the other forking before turning around. Ah well, as long as I make majority of my mistakes in training, I'm happy.
