Novelty Hill-Redmond Ridge-Samm Plateau-Snake: That would be zero. Number of times I have ridden on East Lake Sammamish (or West Samm) since the full trail opened up last October. Well OK, one if you count the .25m south from the bottom of Snake Hill to the 43rd roundabout, where I got on the trail. 1st time Novelty eastbound since 2020/1st time south RRidge since 2015. Cougar and Squak climbs: Don't touch that dial! AAfter 25 years of using nothing but Speedplay road pedals, I was a little concerned about changing pedal systems to LOOK. Conventional wisdom dictates careful tweaking of cleat and saddle position to avoid bio-mechanical issues, followed by short test rides to dial bike fit in. I carefully set my cleats based on a zillion riding miles of experience, and it looks like I nailed it the first time. Today's second ride on the pedals and first 5000' climbing ride of the year was certainly a good test

Squak Mountain road walk. It's been a while since I walked up Mountain Park, and even longer since I rode up what I consider the hardest way up Squak Mountain. I think I'll give that a whirl in the near future.

Sycamore-Sunset Trail-Olde Town Issy: False start(s). I was seriously considering a ride on the summer bike this morning, until a shower rolled through. Then the forecast called for widely scattered showers, and Tracy and I dressed for a dry walk. After an eighth of a mile, it started to steadily rain. We did an about face, and changed into full rain kit! We had a mix of intermittent showers and sun on the walk, so the turnaround was the right call
