Back to the billboard. 50min total hiking.
Warm up on 11a and characteristically blew the onsight of an 11d- shot for the wrong dirty hold. Oh well. Got it next go, and then ended up doing it again after B got sketched on it to clean it.
It started snowing, but I got on the best route there that I intend to send tomorrow (To Hell on a Rocket 5.12c/d). Rad power v5 boulder problem to fun 12b. No one else up there again today. I doubt we'll be as lucky tomorrow. Psyched to get back on that route. No 5.13 for me in 2013 but maybe in the not too distant future.

Slept ok. Shoulders are stiff this morning. I wonder how much of my recent weight gain is from bulking up a little from climbing. How much of it is from drinking 2 or 3 beers every night? Possible run and house work today.

Easy with B on rd, snow, ice, and slush. .6mi on trail in the gulley. Picked up pace on last .2 mile. It felt ok, but my whole body feels tired from yesterday. Sunny and not too hazy.

Hiked up to the Billboard (41min hike up, 25min down).
Warmed up on 11a, 11d
Sent 12a second go after taking once on the 1s go (messed up a sequence), and then dumbly blew the onsight of an 11d.
Sunny and warm up there- short sleeve temps on the wall. Fun day, though a little short.

Up til 11:30 after family party. No bevs but heavy from clam chowder, I guess. My lower back is tight this morning from that run yesterday. Jeez.

Sent the 12b proj 3rd go of the day. Tried a 13b that I bailed on about a third of the way up. It was steep and bouldery and rad. That's the kind of stuff I need to get on. I want to project routes where I'm at my limit like that, fighting the whole time, and there's zero room to think about anything else.

Slow and easy in snow and slush with about .6mi on trail in the gulley. Legs were ok after some initial low back stiffness. Longest run in a while. Felt good to breathe. Probably run again on Wed. AM before fam stuff.

We were there for 3.5 hours. 10 gym pitches up to 12c. Sent 12c proj 2nd try of the day. Tried a pretty hard 12b 3 times. Decent hard-ish mileage. Finished with 3x 15 dips on the minute. Feel pretty wrecked. Good day.

After warming up, I just tried the moves on some v8s. But I did do a long v5 with a dyno near the end.
2 sets of campus "touches"- 6 moves per hand
5 pull ups with 30lb dumbbell
5 pull ups with 25 lb dumbbell
Need more power! Taking at least 2 days off from climbing. My Sat-Sun/ Tu-Wed gym schedule caught up with me yesterday. It's time to be smarter about my use of resources.

Good session. Getting stronger. Left after 2 hours not feeling cooked or cross-eyed. Drank 20oz Perpetuem which kept me fueled and hydrated- digging that stuff for climbing.

Another good day. Sent 12a arete proj second go. Onsighted another 12a and did another hard 11d second try of the day. 10 gym pitches total today from 10b-12a. Finished with 10min alternating 5 dips and 5 pull ups on the minute then 5 minutes spin on the bike.

Feel good this morning. I need to start running more to bring up my energy levels. No training though- just running. Super cold and snowing this morning. Gym life this weekend.

Really fun day at the gym. Met some new people. Onsighted a 12a and did another 12a second go. Meaningless numbers, of course, but it represents some improvement in endurance and efficiency. We finished the day with gas in the tank for tomorrow. Psyched.
