Nice little run down to the Valley and then up through Mt Pleasant and back.

Note

Hmm, how to find a new inefficiency Moneyball style?

Recruit a 19 year Swiss!

Last top junior Orienteer developed by Montreal was?

I live in Toronto, last here was in the 90s.

Cross-country skiing (skating) 1:23:40 [1] 15.77 km (5:18 / km)

Really nice ski at MonoNordic in Orangeville with Chris Reid and Alan. Luckily for me, the retired bike races didn't tell too many war stories.

Used my good skate skis, but haven't waxed since the spring and they were slow! Also, broke the speed lace on one of my skate boot, to match the other one. Good news, I have a spare speed lace. Bad news, I'm not sure I'm smart enough to install it myself.

MonoNordic actually looked a little thicker than I remembered it. However, would still love to see how the woods look for Orienteering.

Talked about the Norwegian approach on the ski today with Chris Reid, one of the coaches at the National Cycling Velodrome and lead cycling tester of the RBC program, see this: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/summer/cycling/...

On our ski we talked about how in Norway they try not to specialize too early, Dæhlie mostly played soccer growing up.

From the Globe piece:
Clubs form the backbone of sports in Norway. There are more than 12,000 across the country and all are run almost entirely by volunteers. Surveys show that 80 per cent of Norwegians belonged to a club during their childhood and roughly half of all teenagers are active club members.
