Got back last night from Houston on a plane scheduled to arrive at 1130 pm, but plane late, then bags late, then out into the snow. Got as far as Devil's elbow at a crawl, but couldn't make it more than halfway up, so backed down and resolved to drive around on 44 to come up from Canton. Roads were good there, and not much snow. However, snow increased gradually on 179, and it was pretty clear that I wasn't going to get farther than Jan's house, so parked in her driveway. Rhonda had called by then because I was so late, and came to get me. Home at 2:15.
Up at 5:30, and set about plowing my driveway and the neighbors' driveways. Really heavy sloppy stuff and slow going. We had about 10-12", but it wouldn't get out of the way. The plow is designed to throw it up and to the side, but I just ended up pushing the growing pile in front of me. Pretty big mess. Nice to have chains, or I wouldn't have had the traction to do it. Total of 5 driveways, including a mercy trip over to Isabel's.
