Running race 1:42:00 [3]

Malham fell race - I think Zanthe, Jo and I nearly doubled the number of women ever to do the race - result! My heart wasn't really in this, so pottered around near the back. I also hadn't twigged there was a scramble up a waterfall in Gordale, luckily when I got there a nice person helped me across the river so I could get to the scramble. Good fun, but a bit miserable weather. Pleased just to finish, probably should have put a bit more effort in, but was fairly pasted by the end.
Debating whether we can count this in the 70 race challenge - there were 6 checkpoints to go to, so I might have to count it as it's not going very well so far.

Orienteering 1:29:00 [3]

Nice run out with Jo to pick up a few of the controls on Oli's Long-O map from Malham Tarn. Scuppered by a wall/fence on the way to 5, but had some fun on the google earth map too. We even found the start without a map (eventually!).

Running 1:25:00 [3] 7.7 mi (11:02 / mi)

A very hilly run around the hills of Clun, with Shrewsbury AC and Bendover, who met us there. Very sociable, very muddy, and much fun - glad we had Ben and Rob reading the map at the front though! We were out quite a bit longer than this, but did spend a fair bit of time faffing...

Running race 23:23 [5] 5.0 km (4:41 / km)

Severn Loop 5k round Shrewsbury - had forgotten this was on, but Dad was doing the timing so it seemed rude not to do it. This was hard work after yesterday, and a second pb for the week wasn't really in the legs... managed to get a personal worst instead! Nice day though, warm and sunny.

Running warm up/down 40:00 [3]

Run into town from my parents, around a bit of the route, and then a few minutes afterwards. Legs sore. (actually, whole body sore).

Running race 32:43 [5]

Devil's Chair Dash - feeling good after two coffees on the way over to Shropshire, so had a bash at a pb - think I got it by a couple of minutes, but it is so long since I last did this race I can't really remember. Nice to be able to run it and not be ill over Christmas! Superwoman flew down the hill past me on the way back, so had to work hard and managed to get her on the last lump, which was a relief!

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

15 mins warm up up and down the route, and a few minutes warm down after walking back up to meet mum (ran the last bit of the race back down with her).

Note
(rest day)

Somewhat misjudged how long Christmas dinner would take to prepare, so skipped the planned run, and went out for a nice late afternoon walk up Rivelin instead. Saw the heron flying past, but other than that, fairly quiet.

Running 40:00 [3]

Christmas card delivery run - probably a bit late for most people, but nice to catch up with Annie who was in when I called.

Friday Dec 23, 2011 #

Climbing 45:00 [2]

Some nice bouldering at the works.

Running 1:10:00 [3]

Carols at the headstone - running with Amanda. Unfortunately, despite my kamikaze driving we were a bit late, so had to run quite hard to catch people up before they got to the bit of moor where I don't know where I am going! Turns out it's quite hard to see the headstone in the dark, but luckily the hard core dark peakers seemed to know where they were going. Back along the conduit and round the reservoirs. Hardest run for a while!

Running 45:00 [2]

Very sociable girly run up through Endcliffe parks.

Sunday Dec 18, 2011 #

Running 20:00 [3]

A short jog around Old Leake (nice and flat). Lungs still full of gunk, but feeling better for running slowly - seems to be helping to clear them. I really need to do some proper training again soon though.

Running 20:00 [3]

Golly gosh, I did some exercise! A short jog around Endcliffe Park (not watching the Parkrun as it was cancelled due to ice) with Kelly for some of it. Still got a lot of gunk in my lungs, but feeling ok.

Note
(sick)

Investing my illness-induced free time in embracing Christmas - got a tree, making a cake... feeling festive!

Note
(sick)

Oh dear, my 70 event challenge is not going too well, it doesn't look like I will be doing the club champs tomorrow either.
On the plus side, we are moving offices so I got a bonus afternoon off work today. Going to make a start on the christmas cake - have even bought some brandy!

Wednesday Dec 7, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

Got a cold grumble grumble

Tuesday Dec 6, 2011 #

Note
(rest day)

Feeling lazy, and can't face going outside again in this weather. Will hopefully woman up again soon...

Sunday Dec 4, 2011 #

Running race 46:57 [5] 10.0 km (4:42 / km)

Percy Pud 10k. My training has been so rubbish recently I haven't even bothered to update attackpoint, so it was not too surprising that this race wasn't my best. Managed a negative split though, helpfully assisted by the wind. About 2 and a half minutes down on my pb, which I guess isn't too bad considering, but would be nice to be faster.
Minging day, cold, windy, sleety.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [3]

Run up the hill to the race, and back home again, with Laura.

Saturday Dec 3, 2011 #

Running 25:00 [3]

Short run up Rivelin, with a few minutes of effort on the way back down. Bit of last minute training for the pud! Managed to avoid the worst of the showers.

Running 32:00 [3]

Bit of a road run up round loxley and wise wood, taking in as much hill as possible. Really pleased to get out tonight - needed the fresh air - a bit of an epic week at work and trying to get my assignment finished too.
