walking in woods 4:00:00 [2]
Hike with Sierra Club group, including Rick, at Hawn St. Pk. Near the end of the hike, in the sand along the trail next to Pickle Creek, I got stung on left ankle through my sock by ?. Stung like heck. I screamed. In order to soak my foot/ankle in cold water, the group did stop to wade in the creek. The water wasn't super cold. Put Benadryl on it after drying. Finished the hike and we drove home. Continued to sting. Ice was the most helpful. I kept icing (alternating two ice packs) until about 2:45 a.m. when the sensation changed to itching. Used Benadryl and Cortisone cream. Pretty much OK by morning and was able to run in the Saturday Sprint O'.
