OK. I am starting this blog again after a year or so. This is part of my intent to show how serious I am about traininig for the fall A-Meets.
I am getting into better shape than I have in about 10 years before my 1st cancer episode. Am actually running some hour runs. Lifting, yoga stretching and aerobics are all at a level not achieved for about 10 years. Of course all of this could come to a screeching halt with an injury or sickness. But it is time to give it a shot and no longer be so cautious (and/or lazy).

Sunday Montebello showed me that i cna still run with the 50 year olds when in shape. Started slowly because of a steep downhill. Matthias who started 4 minutes back caught me at 5. It looked as though he was going to pull away. But the combination of a poor route choice by him and myself feeling stronger allowed me to catch him and even push by him on the last two controls after he made another small error. I finished 3 minutes behind him overall for 2nd. Grabbed a 50 year old scalp in beating Toby by 2 minutes.

During the race I went charging down an earthbank, which proceeded to give way adn take me on a 10 ft freefall. On the way down i was just hoping I didn't hit a rock. Came out a bloodied hand and a bruised tailbone. (Both of which are doign better after two days. )
