SL6 Gumble.

Was going to go slow to 1 until I realized it was entirely track until the end so gassed it. Then stopped and almost walked into the control and nailed it. Wobbly for 2 just jumping onto features before a solid compass into the control. Went up for 3 and nailed it, but spent 29s fixing up the unravelling shoelace tape. 4 I reckon was the hardest leg of the course, originally came slightly left of where I wanted to be over the spur but realized as I came into the big gully, went passed 6 then really careful precise navigation into the control. Very happy to nail this albeit 90s slower than the winner (9:10 to 10:44 excluding shoelace). Then really slow 5 and 6 that I still nailed. Owen caught up at 6 (made a mistake at 5 and started before me) and ran together but separately to 7. I knew I was too far left whereas he didn't and got the control after a little overshoot to get a gap. Spent a while analyzing the fence to 8 into the open, but all good. Gassed 9 to completely drop Owen and lose him as I went back into the bush. Caught Jamie at 9 then different route to 10 (he went left around green I went straight) to arrive at the same time. Slight 60s miss to 11 thinking I was right when I was left. Different routechoice to Jamie for 12 and I got a 30s gap. Went around the hill for simplicity then sprinted 13 and the finish. Really stoked with this. Came 2nd behind David (+56s) but beat Alvin (-2:03?). Just kept it together in the really tough stuff before sending the running legs.

Definitely my favourite orienteering map though despite some pretty slow runnability.

SL5. Not happy with this one. Completely messed up 1 and made a parallel error then my compass felt really stupid and I ended up near the gate before finding it +5:30. 2 also felt funny but fine. Good rhythm for the next controls that were easily the hardest in the course but slightly suboptimal micro RC to 4. Then messed up 10 which by the way I found on my mistake to 1 just getting everything wrong and being really confused/stupid with the clearings eventually got it but +5:45-6:00. Then pretty solid last part but it was quite straightforward anyway.

Too much time loss for a middle but still good signs for the other stuff. Gonna take 1 real cautious tomorrow.

Morning at narra. Nice fun, a bit concerned with the bigger ones but good be getting tubed again. Use max's GoPro for last 20 minutes, which only felt weird for duckdives.

HR a bit high, will have to monitor again.

Nice controlled and smooth.

Tracks closed so I just a ~340m loop of a grass AFL field that was rather rectangular. 2 flattish hills per lap.

Moonlight Madness Jog. Need to learn to jog orienteering better. Missed track to 11. Iffy placement for 23. And just couldn't see 15. Dropped 3 but was back very late anyway.

2 x 960m Canadian (5:45 cycle), 1 x 1440m Canadian (2'50''), 3 x ~270m windup (~90s).

Not a track but grass oval with a little hill each lap. Distances are approximate and the first 270 was about 285m. Not pushing too hard focussing on making big shifts in the canadian relay, before cruising around 4's.
